Jerry LaMothe is an award-winning writer/director/producer, born and raised in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. In 2007, the filmmaker wrote, directed, and produced the indie classic, Blackout. The festival fave boasted an impressive cast which included: Jeffrey Wright, Zoe Saldana, Saul Rubinek, Jamie Hector, Susan Kelechi Watson, Melvin Van Peebles and Michael B. Jordan. Blackout premiered at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival. Other top-tier festival selections would follow, including the Chicago International film festival, Zurich International Film Festival and Urbanworld, where LaMothe received the "Director spotlight" award.
In 2017 LaMothe directed the pilot (and episodes 2-3) to Bounce TV's first-ever scripted series, Saints and Sinners which has since become Bounce TV's flagship show and most watched series in the network's history. Shortly afterwards, in 2018, LaMothe helmed the holiday TV movie, The Christmas Swap for TVOne in addition to receiving an Artists Grant from the Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation for his screenplay The Promise Keeper.
In 2020, the filmmaker made history by leading the first production in the U.S. (greenlit by SAG-AFTRA) to commence and complete production during the Covid-19 pandemic. Shot in Atlanta, Georgia and created/co-written/executive produced and directed by LaMothe, the result was the Anthology Series Terror Lake Drive. Season 1 starred Donielle T. Hansley, Shannon Kane, Lamman Rucker and Malik Yoba. The suspense thriller hit series was shot in an astounding 19 days and was released Thanksgiving 2020, on the AMC Network backed streaming service, AllBlk-which is available on Amazon Prime. Jerry helmed the holiday female-led comedy/buddy pic, Sisterly Christmas Starring Deborah Joy Winans (Greenleaf) and Kendrick Cross (Ambitions). The TV Movie premiered during the 2021 holiday season on Oprah Winfrey's OWN network. AMC/AllBlk renewed LaMothe's anthology series Terror Lake Drive for a third season.
